COPPERHEAD SEASON
So my lovely model, Victoria, and I visited the Savannah Botanical Gardens yesterday. I asked her to sit on this chair so it would look like she had wings and not two seconds later we were 10+ feet away from it and dry heaving. We can't stand snakes. And these were very bad snakes. THANKFULLY, they were in a good mood and paid us absolutely no mind. Also... THERE WERE TWO. Idk if we had a close sibling situation (uncommon) or these guys were so chill because they were about to have snexual relations (hehe), but it was odd to see two young ones so close together.
Also, upon a Google review, the babies do know how to control their venom and do not inject it all at once, as the old wives' tales used to say. They also have significantly smaller venom glands, and are far less dangerous than their adult counterparts, so I guess I lied to a lot of people when I worked in vet medicine, oops. I think the weirdest wives' tale I ever heard while in vet medicine was that if a dog that has dewclaws gets bit by a snake, the venom will go into the dewclaws and they will fall off. Wild, I know, but the old man was adamant that it was true, lol.
ANYWAY, this session was absolutely gorgeous, aside from the snake. Victoria asked that I get a little whimsical with them, so they are extra cinematic and hazy. I love how they turned out. Here's some more from that session:
